A Good Person

In the United States “casual Christians” talk about about being a good person. They say things like, “I’ve done many good things. I deserve to go to heaven.” The problem with that mindset is they believe God owes them eternal life with Him. 

NEWSFLASH: He owes us NOTHING!!

In this first chapter of 1 John, we see that we are all sinners in need of salvation. John shares with us that Jesus is our Savior. Because of His sacrifice, we can have a right relationship with God the Father. We simply need to confess our sin and receive Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for the forgiveness of our sin. God is faithful and just. He will forgive our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy.

8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
