A Merciful God
A popular phrase people use when the odds are stacked against them is, “So you’re saying there’s a chance.” My good friend Jerry May used to say that frequently. As I read this chapter of Revelation I learned that God’s partial wrath is designed to give the unrepentant people a chance to choose Him. This is likely why only a third of the things were destroyed. What a mighty God we serve! Have you been hesitant to surrender your life to Christ? Allow this chapter to serve as your reminder that although God is merciful and mighty, He is also just. He will not allow your disobedience to go unpunished. Either you will pay with your life and eternal separation from Him or you will allow what Jesus did on the cross to be your payment. The choice is yours. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Revelation 8:7 7 The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up. Today’s Reading: Revelation 8
