Alone With God
Jacob was a wealthy man, surrounded by four wives, more than eleven children, servants, and countless animals. Yet, he had to get alone to have an important encounter with God. As Jacob prepared to meet his brother, Esau, he was afraid. God came to him in his fear and reassured him. God will do that for you as well. The key is to get alone with God. In this alone time, focus on Him. Be careful not to be distracted if you choose to listen to music during your alone time. It’s easy to find yourself “worshipping” God instead of listening to what He’s trying to tell you. You might ask, what’s wrong with worshipping God. The answer is nothing, unless it distracts you from what He’s trying to tell you to do and it ultimately leads to disobedience. For reference, look at the life of the reluctant king, Saul. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Genesis 32:24 24 So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. Today’s Reading: Genesis 32
