Already Enough
This passage in Luke could be easily overlooked. I encourage you not to do that. In my daily walk, I engage with people who have interesting ideas of walking well with Christ. One day we asked a man if we could pray for him. He responded, “No, I’m okay. I go to two churches.” That answer struck me as odd. We receive other, similar responses to our requests to pray for people. When I read a passage like this one it saddens me for the people who believe they’re already enough in Christ. It is not my place to say whether they are or not, but this passage seems to warn us to stay away from that type of mentality. How do you interact with God? Are you a person who seeks Him well and desires to honor Him with all you do? Or are you a person who does their part and God does His part and all is “right” with the world as long as each of you stays in their lane? The latter is a dangerous attitude that will lead to destruction. If you have it, change it, now! Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Luke 13:22-24 22 Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem. 23 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?” He said to them, 24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Today’s Readings: Luke 13:22-14:6; Proverbs 12:26
