Campfires
When I was a boy I was a part of the Boy Scouts. Our troop went camping frequently. Since I have never been an outdoors man, these camping trips were a chore. The way I kept my sanity was by keeping the fire going at night. I would sit next to the fire for hours. When it would start to dwindle, I got more wood, then fanned into flames the embers that remained. Suddenly what seemed like an extinguished fire became a beautiful, blazing fire. Paul’s words to Timothy are a good image of that flame. When you accepted what Jesus did on the cross for the forgiveness of your sin, God placed His Holy Spirit inside of you. Now you can do all that God has called you to do. Are you a little down? Do you believe that “life” is getting the best of you? Fan into flames the power of the Holy Spirit. He is waiting to guide you to love and good works. Let Him. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. 2 Timothy 1:6-7 6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. Today’s Reading: 2 Timothy 1
