“Come out!”
As I read this passage, I flashed forward to the time Jesus calls Lazarus to come out of the grave. As you read the words of this passage, does it bring up Lazarus in your mind? The Bible bears witness to itself. Rarely does something happen independently. Jesus walked on water, then Peter walked on water. Jesus fed the five thousand, then He fed the four thousand. Jesus raised Jairus daughter, then Paul raised the young man who fell to his death. It makes sense that Jesus would foretell this important lesson of raising Lazarus from the grave. He’s going to raise the dead in Christ when He returns. I encourage you to read your Bible with the purpose of getting to know God better. As you grow in your knowledge of Him, He will use you in ways you have yet to think of. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. John 5:28-30 28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. 30 By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.” Today’s Readings: John 5:24-47; Proverbs 14:30-31
