Country Focus
Living for God seems to be elusive these days. The focus of many Americans is the country. “What’s going to happen?” “Is this the end times?” “Who will save us?” “Thank you for saving us!” And the list of questions goes on. But here’s the thing. That’s a country focus. As Christians, we must be God focused. When chaos arises, we know that God is not in the midst of it so we should not surround ourselves with it. We must be God focused. When Elijah had been used by God for a great work, it was as if he immediately forgot what God did through him. He ran away thinking he was alone and forgotten by God. This was not true. Elijah was “country focused.” God reassured Elijah that there were seven thousand who had not forsaken God. Just like God reassured Elijah, we can be reassured that there will always be a remnant of the Lord’s people. The only question is are you a part of the remnant or apart from the remnant. Where’s your focus? Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Romans 11:2-5 2 God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don’t you know what Scripture says in the passage about Elijah—how he appealed to God against Israel: 3 “Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me”? 4 And what was God’s answer to him? “I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” 5 So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. Today’s Reading: Romans 11
