Danger Of Not Knowing

When you don’t know a thing, you’re at the mercy of those who do. The worst part is that the people who claim to know a thing sometimes are wrong in their reasoning. This was the case in today’s reading. 

As you read this section in Acts, pay attention to what’s happening. The people are not attacking Paul based on knowledge. They’re attacking him based on the word of those who had wrong motives. They were guilty of something that they probably would disagree with if they knew the truth. 

That’s the danger of not knowing. We can easily do the wrong thing in the name of doing the right thing. This is why I always urge believers in Christ to read and study the Bible for themselves. 

If you’re not spending quality time allowing God to guide you in His ways, you could find yourself on the wrong end of an unrighteous act. Is that what you want? Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. 

Acts 21:27-30

27 When the seven days were nearly over, some Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul at the temple. They stirred up the whole crowd and seized him, 28 shouting, “Fellow Israelites, help us! This is the man who teaches everyone everywhere against our people and our law and this place. And besides, he has brought Greeks into the temple and defiled this holy place.”29 (They had previously seen Trophimus the Ephesian in the city with Paul and assumed that Paul had brought him into the temple.)

30 The whole city was aroused, and the people came running from all directions. Seizing Paul,they dragged him from the temple, and immediately the gates were shut.
