Death By Worry
I wonder what the death toll is for worry. The stress caused by fretting a possible outcome can be overwhelming. I remember times in my life where I was worried about something. Many of those times I worried for nothing. Has that ever happened to you? Before my mom passed, she used to frequently say, “If you’re going to worry, don’t pray, but if you’re going to pray, don’t worry.” I like that reminder. When we pray, we are yielding everything to God. However, when we allow ourselves to worry about the very thing we prayed, we limit what God can do in our lives and especially for that situation. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Matthew 6:25-27 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Today’s Readings: Matthew 6:25-7:14; Proverbs 2:6-15
