Do The Right Thing
Why do you do what you do? Is your goal to gain favor or fortune for your actions? In this chapter, we see Mordecai do something because it was the right thing to do. What we will learn later in this book is his actions saved the lives of all the Jews throughout the land. I know that’s a leap, especially when you consider the circumstances surrounding my statement. As you read this book, consider this thought and let me know your thoughts. Of the many things we do not know, one of them is how God is going to use our actions. We do not know what the entire outcome of our actions will be. We do not know whose lives will be impacted by a decision we make. That’s why it’s important to do the right thing to the best of our ability. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Esther 2:21-23 21 During the time Mordecai was sitting at the king’s gate, Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s officers who guarded the doorway, became angry and conspired to assassinate King Xerxes. 22 But Mordecai found out about the plot and told Queen Esther, who in turn reported it to the king, giving credit to Mordecai. 23 And when the report was investigated and found to be true, the two officials were impaled on poles. All this was recorded in the book of the annals in the presence of the king. Today’s Reading: Esther 2
