Don’t Be Fooled
It is easy to look at the “success” of someone else and think that God is blessing them. Let this passage be a reminder that God is sovereign and He has the final say in every matter. This passage does not mean God “hated” Esau like we consider “hate.” It is more of a lesser love or rejection. God made a covenant with Jacob, which He has kept. With Esau, He did nothing of the sort. He left Esau (the Edomites) to live their life without a relationship with Him. Ultimately, Edom has been wiped out as a nation. That is what a life without God results in. Don’t be fooled by seeing people with their great riches, insane popularity, or out of this world good looks. None of that matters. The only thing that matters is a right relationship with God, the Father, through Jesus, the Son, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Short of that, your destiny is that of Edoms. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Romans 9:13 13 Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” Today’s Reading: Romans 9
