In this moment we are about a week away from Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. You may recall that the people yelled, “Hosanna, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” And now many of those same people are shouting, “Crucify Him!”
Let this be a lesson in how easy people can be swayed, us included. We must remain vigilant as we seek the Lord. It must be a conscientious decision daily. Be careful not to lose your focus on Jesus. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Matthew 27:20-23 20 But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus executed. 21 “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” asked the governor. “Barabbas,” they answered. 22 “What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called the Messiah?” Pilate asked. They all answered, “Crucify him!” 23 “Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!” Today’s Reading: Matthew 27
