Give It All Up

The entire passage in the Luke reading today is full of images that point us to giving up our wants so we may follow Jesus well. From not taking the seat of honor to counting the cost of being His disciple, Jesus explains how important it is to give it all up to live right with Him. 

How are you doing with this? Be careful not to compare yourself with others. Giving up more than they are does not equal giving it all up. Jesus is our model, not other people. 

Spend time with the Lord. Ask Him to show you areas of your life that you are withholding from Him. Ask Him to give you the strength, courage, and faith to give it all up and put your trust in Him. He will! Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy.

33 In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples.
