Given Time To Repent
This passage is an eye opener. I believe there are two thoughts about the same topic: why do willful sinners seem to flourish. One thought is by the willful sinner. They believe what they’re doing isn’t wrong. They think, “If I’m so wrong, why does God bless me so much,” or words to that affect. They don’t see their wrong because they live in an “instant gratification” world. They believe that if they are allowed to prosper, what they’re doing must not be wrong. The other thought is by the believer. They can’t understand why God is allowing a willful sinner to prosper. They think, “I’m living for God and seeking to do right, yet this person is blessed and I’m always struggling,” or words to that affect. Fortunately, both thoughts are misleading. This passage helps us understand that God is merely giving the willful sinner time to repent. That goes for all of us. If God’s compassion is such that He’s willing to give a willful sinner time to change their ways, then we must be patient in prayer for our friends and acquaintances who are living in willful disobedience to God. Trust God and let Him do what only He can do. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Revelation 2:20-22 20 Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. 21 I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. 22 So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways.
