God Answers Prayers
In many cultures, having a son is important. The first born son becomes the heir to the family estate. This is what we see in this chapter of Genesis. Abram is crying out to the Lord because although God has blessed him with much wealth, he has no son to carry on his legacy. The covenant God makes with Abram is the one that gives us the opportunity to have a right relationship with God the Father. Jesus is born through the line of Abram/Abraham. Then we were presented the chance to accept Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for the forgiveness of our sin. The thing to remember is when God answers prayer, it goes beyond what the eye can see in the moment. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Genesis 15:4-6 4 Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.” 5 He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” 6 Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness. Today’s Reading: Genesis 15
