As you read Psalm 6, think about the life of David, the author of this Psalm. He did not always make good decisions, but he was “a man after God’s own heart.” Notice the sense of urgency in his prayer. Also notice the faith in his prayer. We would do well to seek God in this manner. How?
Take your relationship with God seriously. Do not treat it casually. He’s not your homie, or “the Man upstairs,” or whatever other casual phrase people use to make themselves feel better about not placing Him in the highest position of their lives. He is the creator of the universe. There is nothing that you see that He did not allow to be. Every good and perfect gift comes from God. But He also allows the nasty, ugly things of this world. Why? Because we must choose Him by faith. If everything was sunshine and joy, where would the faith challenge be. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Psalm 6:1 1 Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. Today’s Reading: Psalm 6
