Healed Christ’s Way
This passage is interesting to me. I wonder how many people read it and get grossed out. Jesus spit, presumably somewhere on the man. Then He healed Him in that manner. I imagine if the man knew in advance that Jesus was going to spit, he may have hesitated and missed his healing. I think we are that way as well, sometimes. We get it in our head how God should move in our lives. When He does not move the way we anticipated, we think He’s not moving and we scrap our plans and miss our blessing. Jesus used many different ways to heal. Earlier in this chapter He merely spoke to a mother and the daughter was healed by the time she got home. This is our sign to trust God and be healed Christ’s way! Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Mark 7:33-35 33 After he took him aside, away from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man’s ears. Then he spit and touched the man’s tongue. 34 He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, “Ephphatha!” (which means “Be opened!”). 35 At this, the man’s ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly. Today’s Reading: Mark 7
