Help My Unbelief
I have read and thought about this passage numerous times over the years. The honesty the father has with Jesus is refreshing. Jesus response of assurance is helpful for us too. There may be areas in our lives where it can be difficult to see a way through. We believe in God but our level of belief does not rise to the level of the problem. In those times we need to take a page from the father’s book and ask Jesus to “help my unbelief.” He is faithful and just. He will do it. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Mark 9:21-24 21 Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?” “From childhood,” he answered. 22 “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” 23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” 24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Today’s Readings: Mark 9:1-29; Proverbs 10:18
