How Will You Be Healed

This passage shows one of my favorite healings done by Jesus. He spat on the ground, made mud, and put it on the man’s eyes. I can hear people saying, “Ewww, that’s gross!”

Here’s my question for those people, “what’s the best way to heal people.” Jesus knows, you don’t!

Notice John highlights that Jesus did this on the sabbath. One thing He was trying to teach was that we are not to be religious in our doing good. Jesus did “work” on the sabbath to heal the man so He could continue making His point that doing good took priority over religious traditions not rooted in love.

Do you have religious things that you do or beliefs that you have that are not rooted in love? Ask God to open your eyes to every belief and tradition you have. You might be surprised at what you see. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy.

John 9:6-7

6 After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. 7 “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

Today’s Readings:

John 9:1-41; Proverbs 15:15-17
