Inherit The Wind

Many years ago there was a movie that chronicled the well known Scopes Trial. It was about a teacher who dared teach the theory of evolution in a school in Tennessee. I find it fascinating that the title of the movie is named for this passage, which is a line in the script. 

What does it mean to “inherit the wind?” It means that you will get nothing. Unfortunately this metaphor applies to more than just the home. A person who seeks to create trouble or chaos will be “poor” in God’s economy. 

What are your daily motives? How can you ensure that you are placing the needs of others before your own? Spend time in prayer asking God to show you areas in your life where you may be bringing “ruin on your family” then make changes for better. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. 

Proverbs 11:29

29 Whoever brings ruin on their family will inherit only wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise.
