Is This Us
As I read this passage, I could not help but think of the state of America. I see the division that exists in our country and think how can we believe we are a Christian nation amidst such division. Recently someone said there are over three hundred churches in the city or county where I live. The impact of churches in this area is minimal. We are a nation who claims to love Christ, yet our churches typically have no impact or a negative impact on society. Notice how God treated the Israelites’ disobedience. It begs the question, why do we believe we will not be held accountable for our disobedience as a nation and as an individual. We cannot find an occurrence in the Bible where acts of disobedience went unpunished. Adam was cast out of Eden, Moses could not enter the Promise Land, David’s son died as an infant, and many more people in the Bible held accountable for their disobedience. I encourage you, spend quiet time with God. Ask Him to search your heart to find areas in your life in which you are disobedient. Then ask Him to give you the strength to change. Repent and seek God. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Hosea 4:1-2 Hear the word of the Lord, you Israelites, because the Lord has a charge to bring against you who live in the land: “There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgment of God in the land. 2 There is only cursing, lying and murder, stealing and adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed.” Today’s Reading: Hosea 4
