Keep Shouting Anyway
I love this passage! The two blind men knew what they wanted. Their faith was strong. Therefore they did not allow the crowd to hinder their healing. They shouted until Jesus responded. Now that’s a word for you! There’s a parable about a widow seeking justice. The judge said he did not fear God nor man, but he said that widow’s persistence was going to wear him down if he didn’t give her justice. In that parable, Jesus teaches that our Father hears our persistent prayers and has compassion on us. The two blind men kept shouting and Jesus had compassion on them. What are you going through? What are you shouting to God about? Keep shouting! When the naysayers try to rebuke you and tell you to leave Jesus alone, keep shouting anyway! Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Matthew 20:29-34 29 As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. 30 Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” 31 The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” 32 Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked. 33 “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.” 34 Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him. Today’s Readings: Matthew 20:29-21:22; Proverbs 6:12-15
