Life Happens

If you are familiar with Martha and Mary, you might find it interesting that when Jesus showed up on this occasion, it was Martha and not Mary who went to Jesus first. This is the same Martha who was distracted by the need for preparation on one of Jesus’ visits. 

This reminds me that life happens. Sometimes, in our zeal, we get it right. And sometimes, in that same zeal, we get it wrong. Martha’s love for Jesus propelled her to hurry to go see Him. And that same love allowed her to get distracted by good intentions. 

Let us learn a lesson from Martha. We need to seek God first. Trust Him. And maintain a heart of service for His people. He will take care of the outcome. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy.

20 When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home.
