Metaphorically Speaking
In this Proverb, the “adulterous woman” is a metaphor for sin. As you read it, be mindful of the sin in your life that is so attractive. What has a hold on you? Trust me when I tell you, I have had seasons in my life where sin had me so bound I could not see straight. The allure is intoxicating. I got to a place where I thought I could not live without the sin in my life. PRAISE BE TO GOD! His faithfulness is long suffering. His forgiveness is FAR REACHING. Have you found yourself trapped in sin? You’re not alone. Christians around the world are suffering the same fight and fall as you. But there’s hope. And His name is Jesus Christ! Put your trust in Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to guide all your actions. He knows how to guide you away from the sin that so easily entangles us and pulls us away from God. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Proverbs 7:1-5 My son, keep my words and store up my commands within you. 2 Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye. 3 Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart. 4 Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and to insight, “You are my relative.” 5 They will keep you from the adulterous woman, from the wayward woman with her seductive words.
