My Friend Paige
Every time I read Romans 5, I think of my friend Paige. She clings to the hope we have in Christ. I’ve watched her overcome some tough hardships that might deter another person from continuing in the faith. Paige is the third person to begin receiving these daily texts in 2012. The majority of her difficult trials have come during the time since. Yet Paige perseveres. For some crazy reason, Paige is an Ultra Marathon runner. She has qualified for the Boston Marathon and is the living example of “life is a marathon, not a sprint.” Whenever I read Romans 5, I think of Paige and am reminded that life happens, but God can sustain us. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Romans 5:2b-5 And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Today’s Reading: Romans 5
