No Hometown Heroes
When I was in the Army, I frequently had to fill out hometown news releases. It was the Army’s way to have soldiers inform their hometowns of their military accomplishments. I’m not sure any of my news releases ever made it into a local paper. This passage reminded me that in Christ, there are no “hometown heroes.” Just as Christ was unable to perform many miracles in His hometown, due to their lack of faith, we may find it difficult to successfully share our testimony in our hometown or in our homes. There’s an expression that says, familiarity breeds contempt.” I feel like that is the root of why there are no hometown heroes. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Matthew 13:58 58 And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith. Today’s Readings: Matthew 13:47-14:12; Proverbs 4:7-10
