Obedience Is Key
Comparison and competition ruin more relationships than just about anything. Who’s in charge? Who’s the better person? Who gives more? Who makes more sacrifices? And a longer list of questions we believe should be answered within our relationships. But we are wrong. In this passage a person makes the statement that the woman who birthed and nursed Jesus should be blessed. It gives the impression that Jesus is a good person because of the way His mother raised Him. I love Jesus’ response! If you want to live right for God, obedience is key. Multiple times Jesus talked about the connection between loving Him and obeying Him. As we celebrate this Resurrection Sunday, be mindful of your level of obedience to the Father. Your words of love for Christ and others are meaningless if they are not followed by obedience. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Luke 11:27-28 27 As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.” 28 He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” Today’s Readings: Luke 11:14-36; Proverbs 12:18
