Peace & Righteousness

Before going to the cross, Jesus told His disciples that He was giving them His peace. This peace is not the peace the world gives. It is a peace that Paul says, “passes all understanding.” So the question becomes, how do we get this peace. The answer is, live righteously. 

Now you might say, “but there is none righteous, not even one.” And you would be correct. On our own we cannot be righteous. However, in Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we are made righteous in God’s sight. Therefore as you seek first the kingdom and His righteousness, all “these things will be given to you as well.” This includes Christ’s peace. 

Seek Christ! Rest in His peace. Stress is a reality, but it does not need to overwhelm the Christian who puts their trust in God. Where is your trust? Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy.
