Serve Like An Ant
This morning as I journaled, I thanked God for allowing me to know Him, then I asked what I am supposed to be doing. The Bible passages in today’s reading plan reminded me of what we all are supposed to be doing, serve like an ant. These passages in Matthew and Proverbs teach us that we must be a servant of all if it is our desire to lead people to the foot of the cross. The Proverbs passage teaches us to work with wisdom and diligence like the ant. Together, these passages, on this day, reminded me that God is sovereign. He sits on His throne orchestrating the days of our lives for our best interest. The only question is, will we follow Him by serving others or will we do our own thing by serving ourselves. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Matthew 20:24-28; Proverbs 6:6-8 24 When the ten heard about this, they were indignant with the two brothers. 25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” 6 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! 7 It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, 8 yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. Today’s Readings: Matthew 20:1-28; Proverbs 6:6-11
