Spare Your Enemy
Recently I wrote about the danger of harming God’s anointed ones. This passage shows us that David understood this. His actions towards Saul must have seemed “crazy” to his men, but Saul’s reaction to learning that David spared his life is all the proof we need to know that we must allow God to fight our battles. Our job is to pray for our enemies not harm them. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. 1 Samuel 24:5-7 5 Afterward, David was conscience-stricken for having cut off a corner of his robe. 6 He said to his men, “The Lord forbid that I should do such a thing to my master, the Lord’s anointed, or lay my hand on him; for he is the anointed of the Lord.” 7 With these words David sharply rebuked his men and did not allow them to attack Saul. And Saul left the cave and went his way. Today’s Reading: 1 Samuel 24
