Sufficient Grace
I have a friend, whom I love dearly, named Grace. This morning I’m thinking of her as she recently reminded me how important it is to take time alone to allow God to replenish us. In this passage, Paul reminds us that in our bodies, we are weak. He shares of his “thorn” that seemed to serve as a reminder of his weakness. The truth is, like Grace, we all need to take time to reengage the Father and allow Him to be our strength. It’s easy to get caught up in our daily lives, including ministry, and forget that Jesus often told His disciples to “come away” with Him so they could pray. Would you join me in praying for Grace and any other person who is taking time to recharge. When is the last time you did that? Maybe this is your “sign” to take a “me day” and let the Father minister to you. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. 2 Corinthians 7b-10 Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Today’s Reading: 2 Corinthians 12
