The Importance of a Foothold

After reading this passage I had a thought, “how important is a foothold.” So I asked Google. This is the response:

“A foothold is important because it provides a secure and advantageous position from which to make further progress.”

The last part, “to make further progress,” jumped off the screen to me. Think about the enemy’s goal, “to steal, kill, and destroy.” In order for him to do that he must first gain access to you. Therefore, he prowls around like a roaring lion seeking (a foothold). That’s how he’s able to devour you. 

As you go about your life today, be aware of your actions. Make sure you do not give the enemy a foothold because he won’t stop there. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy.
