The Most Important Step!
As I read 1 Samuel 4, I noticed that the Israelites skipped the most important step in their plan to defeat the Philistines. They brought the Ark of the Lord’s covenant, but did not inquire of the Lord as to what they should do. Because they missed this step, they were soundly defeated and they lost the Ark of the Lord’s covenant. How often do you make moves in your life before you take the most important step? Everything you do should be bathed in prayer. You should be on your “knees” daily seeking what God would have you do. Every important decision should be accompanied by prayer and fasting. I am in a season of life in which I have important decisions to make. You best believe I am also in a season of prayer and fasting. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. 1 Samuel 4:3 3 When the soldiers returned to camp, the elders of Israel asked, “Why did the Lord bring defeat on us today before the Philistines? Let us bring the ark of the Lord’s covenant from Shiloh, so that he may go with us and save us from the hand of our enemies.” Today’s Reading: 1 Samuel 4
