The Same Fate
As I read this passage, I thought about our country. I thought about the level of unbelief that exists here. I thought about how easy people dismiss the presence of God as fairy tale or fantasy. Then I remembered the fate of places like Tyre, Sidon, and Sodom. My prayer is that we would repent as a country and return to the Lord. If we do not, our country is in danger of receiving the same end as those places. But there is good news for the faithful believer. Just like God spared Lot from Sodom’s end, He will spare all who have been cleansed by the blood of Christ. If you are unsure of your salvation, let’s talk. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Matthew 11:20-24 20 Then Jesus began to denounce the towns in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they did not repent. 21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.22 But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.23 And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day. 24 But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.” Today’s Readings: Matthew 11:7-30; Proverbs 3:19-20
