The Truth Hurts
This passage is a reminder that hearing the truth about yourself can hurt. I have lost friends because I’ve told the truth and it wasn’t what they wanted to hear. It is never my desire to lose friends. Over the years I’ve learned how to tell the truth in a way that is not hurtful. However, the truth hurts all by itself. Most people do not want to accept their shortcomings. Notice the Pharisees and Teachers of the Law in this passage. They did not like what Jesus said and began to seek ways to accuse Him. *Spoiler Alert*: They were unsuccessful. Ask God to show you areas in your life where changes should be made. When He does, make those changes, do not get upset. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Luke 11:53-54 53 When Jesus went outside, the Pharisees and the teachers of the law began to oppose him fiercely and to besiege him with questions, 54 waiting to catch him in something he might say. Today’s Readings: Luke 11:37-12:7; Proverbs 12:19-20
