Victim Mentality
“I didn’t do anything wrong.” These are words often said by people who have a victim mentality. No matter what happens in their life, they are innocent of all wrong doing. This passage gets to the heart of victim mentality. Peter warns that those who suffer for their wrong doing are not to be commended. However, those who seek righteousness and yet are wronged, those are to be commended for their suffering. Take accountability of your life. What is your role in the struggles you are facing? Once you identify your role, make sure to eliminate anything that goes contrary to what God wants. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. 1 Peter 2:18-20 18 Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh. 19 For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God.20 But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. Today’s Reading: 1 Peter 2
