Walk Like This
I recently had a wonderful talk with some friends of mine. One of them asked the question, “how do I walk in my purpose.” As I read this passage, I realized that Peter is answering their question. It’s not one simple thing, but a series of characteristics that we must add to our lives with increasing measure. Will it be easy, yes and no. Yes, because we have the Holy Spirit living inside us telling us which way to go, who to talk to, and what to say, among other things. All we need to do is listen. No, because we have our flesh which wars with everything the Holy Spirit wants us to do. On top of that, our adversary, the devil, is prowling around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. If we do not stay sober minded and alert, he will take us out. Walking in your purpose is what you must do. Allowing the Word of God to guide you through Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit is the way you will successfully do it. And the beautiful part, you’re not alone. You have a host of brothers and sisters standing ready to support you in your walk. There are over 150 who receive this text with you daily. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. 2 Peter 1:5-9 5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control;and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. Today’s Reading: 2 Peter 1
