When Anguish Comes
Who doesn’t want a trouble free life? I believe we all prefer a life in which answers come easy, problems are solved quickly, and when the end comes, it’s peaceful. I believe most of us would sign up for that life. Unfortunately, in Christ, that life does not exist. To live well in Christ, we must be willing to navigate, well, the troubles of life. In this passage Jesus says that though His soul is troubled, He will endure because “it was for this very reason (He) came to (that) hour.” We are created in Christ for good works, which God has prepared in advance. When anguish comes for Christ’s sake, remember that you are here for that very reason. Trust God and endure! Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. John 12:27-28 27 “Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.” Today’s Readings: John 12:20-50; Proverbs 15:27-28
