Who Is God, Really

Do you believe in God? Who is the God you believe in? How does your belief in God shape what you do?

These are the questions many “American Christians” refuse to ponder. We think that if we say we believe in God that’s enough. James writes, “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.” What does that mean?

He’s saying that believing that God exists is not enough. Our lives must reflect that belief. We do that by faithfully following His commands. Jesus gave us the ultimate commands when He said, love God and love people. Paul gives us the definition of this love in 1 Corinthians 13.

If you follow the command to agape (sacrificial love for others) you will show your true belief in God. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy.
