Woe To You

Which part of the Bible do you believe does not apply to you? I used to think parts of the Bible did not apply to my life. As I have gotten to know God better through Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit, I realize that every word in the Bible applies to me. 

As I read Matthew 23 I thought about the lives of the Pharisees and Teachers of the Law. They thought they were the experts on God and His word. Yet, when the Word of God was standing in front of them, they did not recognize Him.

As I look around the United States at the church here, I feel this way about us. Pay attention to the seven “woes” Jesus gives in this chapter. We should heed them as well. The last thing we need is to live a life of “religion” that denies us a “relationship” with God through Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy.
