You Are The Soil
The Parable of the Sower is one of my favorite parables because it gives us a glimpse of the narrow road Jesus taught about. If you want to walk well with Christ, good “soil” is required. But here’s the thing, you are the soil. You must be receptive to the Word and will of God. You must be willing to make sacrifices in your life for the good of others. You must be willing to be in your Word daily, praying daily, and surrounding yourself with people of Godly wisdom. There are not many options to following Jesus well. We must fear God and obey His commands. We learn that in Ecclesiastes 12:13-14. Do you fear God? Are you obeying His commands? If so, then you’re probably good soil. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Mark 4:3-9 3 “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.” 9 Then Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.” Today’s Readings: Mark 3:31-4:25; Proverbs 10:5
