You Don’t Know
The best kept secret ever is when the Lord will return. I cannot begin to count the number of times people have predicted His return. Yet, we are still waiting. This passage has been one that I’ve pondered for the entirety of my walk with Christ. It’s a reminder to myself. I say, “Gregg, you don’t know when Christ is returning, so do all that He tells you so you will be ready.” Meditate on this word. Two people will be right next to each other; one will be taken and the other not. That sounds intentional like a good plan. God knows everything. He knows who will accept His free gift and He knows who will not. It’s not a question of Him predetermining who’s going to Heaven. It’s a question of, will you accept the free gift of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for the forgiveness of your sin. Once you do, walk your decision out in obedience to God’s word. Then it won’t matter when Jesus returns, you’ll be ready! Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Matthew 24:36-42 36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. 42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. Today’s Readings: Matthew 24:29-51; Proverbs 7:24-27
