Your Body Is God’s Property
I recently participated in a special moment that had as its foundation 1 Corinthians 6:12-20. This passage is a great one to remind us that our bodies are not our own when we accept what Christ did on the cross as payment for our sin. In some societies, if a person saves your life, you are indebted to that person forever. In a sense, your life belongs to them. This is what happens when you accept what Jesus did on the cross for the forgiveness of your sin. He saved your life, now your life belongs to Him. But here’s the thing. Jesus does not Lord His salvation work over you. He gives you free will to do what you want. Please don’t abuse that free will. There’s a cost for that. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. Today’s Reading: 1 Corinthians 6
