Your Top Five Friends
“Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.” That’s what came to mind when I read this proverb. It’s wrong to think our friends do not have great influence on our lives. Many of our mannerisms, thoughts, and decisions are shaped by the people we surround ourselves with. As a teacher, I experience this quite a bit. My students imitate the things I say. It seems like no big deal, but the truth is, God has placed me in this role as a teacher to show students, parents, my peers, and others an example of how to seek to live for Christ. I have made more than my share of mistakes. But God is faithful. He teaches me where I went wrong, then guides me in His ways. When you’re selecting your top five friends, make sure God is the guide for all of them. He will ensure your paths are straight. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Proverbs 13:20 20 Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. Today’s Readings: Luke 21:1-28; Proverbs 13:20-23
