A Cheerful Giver
If you’re like I used to be, you think of giving only in terms of money. That seems to be the norm when someone says, “please give generously.” That mindset limits what you can give and is shortsighted. Giving includes time, talent, gifting, wisdom, and a few other things. Yes, there is a financial component to giving, but when we believe that money is the only thing we can give of ourselves to advance the kingdom of God, we miss out on the blessings and growth that come from cheerfully giving of every area of our lives. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. Today’s Readings: 2 Corinthians 9; Psalm 51; Proverbs 22:24-25
