Neither Swan Nor Tree
One of the sweetest moments of my walk with Christ happened over twenty years ago when my family and I lived in South Korea. I was reading Psalms 1 to my daughter and one of her life long best friends. When I read, “that person is like a tree planted by streams of water,” the young lady said, “I would rather be a swan.” To which my daughter and I had puzzled looks and inquired as to why she said that. She responded with, “but it said I had to be a tree.” We all laughed! This morning, as I read Psalms 1 and was reminded of that time, the Lord placed in my heart this truth, we are to be followers of Christ walking in obedience to Him. We are neither a swan nor a tree. Let’s purpose in our hearts that we will surround ourselves with believers in Christ and share this gospel. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Psalms 1:1-3 1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers. Today’s Readings: Acts 21:37-22:16; Proverbs 18:11-12; Psalms 1
