I read this passage twice. I wanted to soak in the message. I’m interested to learn what you believe this passage means.
I look at our society today and see some of the things happening that Paul is calling Crete out for. The question is, as Christians, are we willing to do the things that Paul tells Titus to do? Those instructions are for us as well. Life as a Christian should not be a laid back, cushy, let’s sing Kumbaya kind of life. It needs to be a Christ focused, others helping, self sacrificing kind of life. Is that what your life is? Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Titus 1:12-16 12 One of Crete’s own prophets has said it: “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.” 13 This saying is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith 14 and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the merely human commands of those who reject the truth. 15 To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. 16 They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good. Today’s Reading: Titus 1
