In general, people learn best by experience. For years, the Israelites followed the law and made sacrifices to atone for their sins. None of their sacrifices had a permanent effect. No matter how many times they offered a sacrifice, in due time, they would need to offer another sacrifice for the sins they had committed.
Jesus Christ put an end to that. His once for all sacrifice has more meaning because it has, as a backdrop, thousands of years of sacrifices that were not enough. Are you seeking God through Jesus Christ? If not, I encourage you to read your Bible and allow His words to guide you into a right relationship with Him. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Hebrews 10:11-14 11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool.14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfectforever those who are being made holy. Today’s Reading: Hebrews 10:1-18
