What a fascinating end to Paul’s letter to the Colossians. Why did he say, “remember my chains?” I do not know the reason, but I have a theory.
We all struggle. Critical to our faith journey is how we respond to our struggles. Paul remained focused on Christ in all circumstances. As you read his letters, it becomes obvious that many early believers allowed themselves to “fall away” from the sound doctrine they heard from his teachings. I believe Paul is reminding them to draw inspiration from his response to struggle. They know he has been wrongfully accused, flogged, stoned, and jailed, yet his zeal for the Lord never wavered. The next time you find yourself knee deep in a pity party, remember Paul’s chains. Here’s today’s Bible verse. Enjoy. Colossians 4:18 18 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand. Remember my chains. Grace be with you. Today’s Reading: Colossians 4
